Chemical Peel
An effective way to rejuvenate & improve the appearance & quality of your skin.
Chemical Skin Peels are a popular and effective way to rejuvenate & improve the appearance & quality of your skin. Chemical peeling is an intensive but minimally invasive, effective, accelerated form of exfoliation - resulting in regeneration of new tissue and removal of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Chemical Skin Peels can be used to soften fine lines and wrinkles, lighten and lessen pigmentation, smooth rough uneven skin, rid skin of a build up of dead keratinzed skin cells which can cause pores to appear enlarged adding to the concerns of an ageing skin, Chemical Peels can reduce and treat acne and acne scarring.
After treatment - skin looks healthier, more radiant, fresh, regenerated & revitalised. Wrinkles & fine lines are noticeably smoother. The appearance of acne scarring is reduced & pigmentation is also reduced. Pores are more refined.
There are 3 different depths of medical grade chemical skin peeling, they are:
Superficial Chemical Peel.
Medium Depth Chemical Peel.
Deep Chemical Peel.
Here at Susie Thomson Aesthetic & Wellbeing Clinic we use Superficial and Medium Depth Chemical Peels.
A Chemical Skin Peel takes around 30 - 45 minutes. There is no down time and clients can continue with normal activities immediately after.
Superficial Chemical Skin Peels are used to treat the superficial epidermal layers of the skin, they may cause a little bit of dryness of the skin for a few days but it is unusual for significant redness and skin shedding. Round about day 3-5 after treatment clients can experience a slight skin shedding, leaving your skin a fresher, brighter, smoother more radiant complexion.
Medium Depth Chemical Skin Peels are used to treat the deeper epidermal layers of the skin. The Medium Depth Peel comes with a kit and includes everything needed to complete the peel. The main peeling of the skin usually takes place on day 3- 5 and has completed by day 7. Peeling can be light more like shedding if the skin is in good condition, to proper peeling on skins that are in a less good condition.
